Whats New for Davos Klosters Area
his summer, Davos Klosters Mountains made significant investments to enhance the entire ski experience. On Parsenn, extensive maintenance of the cable car was completed and the well-loved Meierhoftäli chairlift has been upgraded with new weather-protection hoods—ensuring smoother, more comfortable rides in all conditions.
At Weissfluhjoch, a brand-new culinary hotspot is taking shape. A sleek rooftop bar featuring panoramic glass-and-metal architecture is set to open in mid-December, offering one of the most impressive mountain viewpoints in the region. A perfect place to unwind, refuel and soak up the scenery.

Sustainability at the Heart of Davos Klosters Tourism
Davos Klosters is committed to long-term, responsible mountain tourism, with a focus on reducing environmental impact and preserving its alpine ecosystems. The region invests in renewable energy projects, local climate initiatives, and promotes public transport and car-free travel, making it easier for visitors to explore the mountains while minimizing emissions.
Key initiatives include climate-neutral events, sustainable snowmaking technologies, and biodiversity protection programmes, ensuring Davos Klosters remains a leading example of eco-conscious alpine tourism.
Practical innovations support this vision: the new Fuxä See reservoir near Usser Isch enables a fully closed water cycle and more efficient snowmaking on the Jakobshorn valley runs, while Rinerhorn’s snowmaking system has been upgraded to produce both snow and electricity, allowing the mountain railways to cover over half of their own energy needs.

NOSTALGIA, HISTORY & ADRENALINE: THE WEISSFLUHJOCH RUN
High above Davos, the historic descent from Weissfluhjoch to Küblis captures the essence of alpine adventure. Standing at the top, skiers are met with breathtaking panoramic views that sets the tone for one of Switzerland’s most legendary valley runs.
The route follows the original Parsenn descent, first discovered in 1895 when four British skiers accidentally navigated the full 12 km stretch into Küblis. This serendipitous adventure helped shape Davos as a pioneering force in early ski culture.
With the opening of the Parsenn funicular in the 1930s, the route became accessible to all and later developed into the themed Nostalgia Run, complete with information boards describing avalanche work, early ski history, and mountain culture. While the marked “Nostalgia Run” branding is not always highlighted today, the descent remains one of the most iconic and exhilarating in the Alps.
Disclaimer: This is a snow dependant descent and always best to check up to date snow and piste reports. This run only opens when snow cover, grooming and safety permit. Valley runs are the most weather-sensitive part of the descent
